RUBENS - STRICTLY REGULATED FREE GAMES
This comprehensive exhibition presents a cross-section of the complete oeuvre of the outstanding contemporary Flemish master of concrete art. Born in 1944, Albert Rubens' now extensive oeuvre begins in the early 1960s. His oeuvre includes paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures and wall installations. No less important are the experimental study drawings, also on display, which provide an essential insight into Rubens' working process. The paintings, with their strict geometry and consistent black and white, can be described as graphic paintings. They also have an architectural character and an overriding mathematical spirit. The architectural approach also applies to the wand objects, regardless of their size or function. There, the typical black and white of the paintings is replaced by the material's own color. Rubens' works sometimes resemble signs or pictorial symbols, although they have no practical use. Nor are they strictly coded. Nor should our understanding be limited to tracing the system: we can discover much more with our eyes and intellect.
The exhibition is curated by András Rényi.

"THE LANGUAGE OF ARCHITECTURE" / "LANGAGE DE L'ARCHITECTURE"
HOMMAGE À LUCIEN HERVÉ
This temporary photographic exhibition is the second in a series of three exhibitions, each of which explores a different relationship between man and the environment. While the first exhibition, "Body Cases", dealt with the human body and its connections in different contexts, the second exhibition deals with the complex, broader architectural relationships between the human and their built environment. The exhibition, which brings together works by international and Hungarian artists, takes its title from Paul Valery (langage de l'architecture) and presents the interaction between man and his built environment in a linguistic model. Lucien Hervé's architectural photographs, from the UNESCO building to the Ronchamp Chapel and the magical buildings of Fatehpur Sikri, which are included in this exhibition, occupy a special place in the exhibition. The exhibition includes works by the following photographers: BOROS György, DAVIDHAZY Andrew, HERVÉ Lucien, HERVÉ Rodolf, HORVÁTH László, HUPJÁN Attila, KÁROLYI Katalin, LUGOSI Lugo László, MAGYAR Alfréd, MAURER Dóra, MISKOLCZI Emese, OSTER Willy and KOEZLE Sigi, SEBESTYÉN Sára, SIMON Gellért.
